Of course I’m referring to the home office here, so get your mind out of the gutter. My wife and I have worked from home together for a number of years (will probably have a post about working from home with your spouse soon) and we’ve had our office in a number of areas.
Currently we have both our desk setups occupying a spare bedroom upstairs on the third floor of our house. We have a great view out the window of the river and mountains, but since it’s hard to see a computer monitor in bright daylight, the shutters often remain completely closed throughout the day. We’re in the process of actually moving our office downstairs, taking up half of our living room space. Why? Well we actually like to be close to the kitchen and living room area, plus its a more open space that is good for the mental health aspect.
I’ve seen home offices in a den, bedroom, living room, and well…some of you who probably have laptops often "work" in the bathroom! So my question to you readers is, where do you conduct your work at home? Feel free to post links to any pictures in the comments as well.

Spare bedroom upstairs. I get the same deal with glare, but my view is nothing more than my yard, a back alley and other people’s backyards. It’s a good spot to yell at the dogs when they’re getting too rowdy, but it gets hot as hell in the afternoon as the sun shines in.
All summer long I thought to myself, “I’m going to bring my laptop onto the deck and work there” but for some reason (insanity? stupidity?) I only did that once. There’s always the winter to make up for it. Me, the laptop and 6 feet of snow. Bliss?
My home office is an addition that was on our house when we bought it. It’s destined for a remodel though, as it’s not insulated (freezing in winter, boiling in summer) and needs more electrical outlets. I have far too many extension cords.
The office does look out into the back yard, so it’s easy to watch the kids as they play out there.
I have worked out on the deck several times during the summer, only problem is that my laptop has a high-gloss screen, and picks up the reflections of everything around it.
