My home office is an addition that was on our house when we bought it. It's destined for a remodel though, as it's not insulated (freezing in winter, boiling in summer) and needs more electrical outlets. I have far too many extension cords.

The office does look out into the back yard, so it's easy to watch the kids as they play out there.

I have worked out on the deck several times during the summer, only problem is that my laptop has a high-gloss screen, and picks up the reflections of everything around it.

Spare bedroom upstairs. I get the same deal with glare, but my view is nothing more than my yard, a back alley and other people's backyards. It's a good spot to yell at the dogs when they're getting too rowdy, but it gets hot as hell in the afternoon as the sun shines in.

All summer long I thought to myself, "I'm going to bring my laptop onto the deck and work there" but for some reason (insanity? stupidity?) I only did that once. There's always the winter to make up for it. Me, the laptop and 6 feet of snow. Bliss?
